Introduction (Classification) bees are insects


Appearance: They have six legs and three body parts head,thorax,abdomen.




Diet: bees take nectar and pollen from the flowers and then turn it into honey.That’s what they eat.



Habitat: They live in a beehive near lots of flowers on a tree.



Lifecycle: Bees hatch from a egg three days later when it hatches  it will turn into a larva,pupa and then a adult.



What they do:They collect pollen from the flowers to make honey.



Interesting Facts: The honey bee’s wings flap incredibly fast about 200 beats per second.They also use their wings to clean the hive.

Title: Weta

Introduction
1.
Wetas are members of the insect family and they are endemic to New Zealand. They are also the heaviest insect in New Zealand.
2.
Appearance: The weta’s has 6 legs and 3 body parts, a head,abdomen,and a thorax. It’s legs are long and spiny.The female weta has a large stinger at the rear of her body.
3.
Habitat :Weta lived for so long they were even alive when the dinosaurs were alive and they are still alive.

Diet: Some weta eats native plants like the slug. They like eating native plants because that is there food. They enjoy these kind of leaves lichen, seed heads,fruit, flowers.some kind of ground tusked weta like to eat worms, slugs, and snails and they eat other  tiny invertebrates.

5.Lifecycle: weta hatch from eggs and are born i n springtime. As they grow they moult their exoskeleton at least 10 times.Female weta has a long, curved egg laying spike that is how the female wetas egg look like.All of the insects need to shed their external covering so their exoskeleton could grow.


6.Threats: People are threats to weta’s because they destroy their habitats.Other introduced animals such as rats and stoats also prey on them.


7.conclusion:The weta is a special insect and the Department of Conservation (DOC) has many programmers to help with their conservation.
